Herbie, a Beetle with its own personality, despised by a bad character who owns a luxury car agency and racing driver. But the Beetle welcomed by a good square pilot (Dean Jones) and, in gratitude, the small car gives him several victories, ending the tide of chance of the pilot, who initially does not understand that it was the fusquinha who won the races. However, he gradually understands that the cart is the main responsible for the victories and decides to always run with him. But both will have to fight against a rich rival, who uses all sorts of dirty blows to defeat them.
